Gateway 2000 definition

<company> One of the lagest US manufacturers of IBM compatibles, founded by CEO Ted Waitt in September 1985, in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1990 the company moved to North Sioux City, South Dakota.

In August 1994, quarterly profits were $4 million on sales of $617 million. Sales for the first quarter of 1997 were $1.42 billion.

On 1997-05-15 Gateway bought the Amiga brand.
